Domestic Name- Howard Weamer
Race/Ethnicity- White
Eye Color- Blue
Hair Color- Light gray
Birth Date- Unknown
Death Date- TBD
Personality- The Hut Keeper is a quiet man who is kind and welcoming to all who visit him. He is very knowledgeable of Yosemite's weather and geography.
Strengths- Having gone on many cross country skiing trips for nearly every winter of his life, the Hut Keeper has proven to be very fit, physically. He has also studied Yosemite's landscape, and is very able to help others who get lost in the wilderness or point them to the best skiing routes.
Weaknesses- RiverClan thinks he may have a hard time adapting to changes in society, hence how he isolates himself in a similar way as them.
Background- In 1974, Howard Weamer trekked on skis to the Ostrander ski hut...and never intended on coming back, or at least never wanted to spend another winter outside Yosemite. During each winter season for decades, Weamer has been the keeper of the ski hut, fending for himself and looking after it while providing shelter and sustenance for cross-country skiers. Every day he writes about this kind of life in his journal and goes skiing through the back-country himself. Meanwhile, he is also a photographer who sells his work in the San Francisco Bay area for profit.
In December 2004, while retrieving water from a nearby lake, Weamer noticed he was being watched. He looked in the woods and saw several girls staring at him curiously, though they bolted off before he got a chance to talk to them. They had looked strange and slightly unhealthy to him, as if they also lived in the Yosemite wilderness. A few days later, the Hut Keeper had an idea: to generously set out food and supplies if those girls were to come back. He inconspicuously put these things outside away from anywhere the skiers might see them, and waited. In another few days, he checked the pile and noticed that nearly all of these items were gone. He was relieved, assuming it was the girls who took them, but was growing frustrated that he hadn't been able to see them since that first day. He periodically set out more supplies, and all of them would disappear later on.
He decided one day to deliberately look for these people, and set out on his skis to search the mountains, but with no luck. He soon began to run out of his own supplies and was forced to turn back. Upon returning to the hut, he found that the door was busted open; at the time he wasn't hosting any skiers. In a panic, he ran inside to find a different group of similar girls looking through the shelves. Now being forced to confront him, the Hut Keeper asked what they were doing so deep in the wilderness.
