What will we be seeing under "Excerpts"?
What I post in here will be writings from the canon series that I'm simply copying/pasting and reformatting to suit this forum. The main goal of this is to provide some inspiration as people plot with their characters in the RP universe.
I am not a professional writer. I don't even plan on making a career out of writing, and that's mostly because I can never write consistently; I'm very sporadic with it. There are times where I go a month without having any inspiration to write, but then one day I write 2,000+ words all in one go. I've practiced writing stories for several years now, which includes the Outcasts, and at this moment I think my writing has reached an all-time high.
That being said, in this series at least, I particularly struggle in writing realistic dialogue. The way the Outcasts would speak has never come to me easily. Do they have limited vocabulary because they're rather behind on their education? Or do they speak more like adults because of the wisdom they've gained from SpiritClan and the environment? This is impossible for me to decide. Thankfully, I think in most of this series I have created a middle ground between those two things.
I also often neglect descriptions of characters' appearances because the story is so plot-driven and based more on descriptions of the environment. Sorry about this, but for the most part I'm not adding any more description into the stories that I'm copying and pasting into here. Nothing is set in stone, either, though.
As I write this I am awfully tempted to actually make a character for the RP universe and begin a thread, but for some reason I feel a stronger need to post one of the canon stories before beginning that. I've never actually role played before anyway; I'm mostly putting it off because I'm just frightened.
So, the stories in this board will be from various Clans' points of view, and from different points in the timeline. I may frequently edit these entries, though that may only be changing word choice a couple of times or deleting a sentence of dialogue. Meanwhile, enjoy.
